What’s the difference between a vertical platform lift and a stair lift?

Stairlifts and VPLs can both be installed indoor and outdoors and are both good options to use in the home. There are a couple main differences. On a stairlift, you move up and down with the stairs and have to get out of your wheelchair or mobility equipment. With a VPL, you move vertically and stay in your wheelchair or piece of mobility equipment. The location of where you are installing the device plays a large role in which would be a better fit for you.

What’s the difference between a vertical platform lift and an elevator?

A VPL is most similar to an elevator as they operate by moving between floors vertically. But, many find VPLs much safer in the home. VPLs are often less costly than an elevator.
